Welcome to Fly Sussex!

Do you want to learn to paraglide? To fly a wing that fits in a rucksack and can be carried on your back? To soar with the birds and drift among the clouds? Well, all you have to do is come and train at the most popular paragliding school in the UK. Established for over 25 years, we are recognized as the largest – and we think, best – BHPA-approved paragliding school in the UK, and make learning to paraglide as fun and safe as possible.

Our paragiding lessons take place at our exclusive training sites on the beautiful South Downs in East Sussex – just outside Brighton and Lewes and just a short hop from London – and are taught by the very best instructors. Our chief flying instructor, Tim Cox, was even put forward by the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association for the coveted Royal Aero Club Ann Welch Award for his lifetime contribution to paragliding. Over his 25-year career, he has taught thousands of budding pilots to fly. Some are now national and international champions.

Simply book one of our paragliding courses online or by giving us a call at our shop. Alternatively, why not treat someone else to the ultimate adventure? You can buy one of our paragliding vouchers online, over the phone or in person at our shop on the A27 near Lewes. For qualified pilots, we also run a range of overseas trips.

You certainly won’t regret it. As Leonardo da Vinci said: "For once you have tasted flight, you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

Why learn with Fly Sussex Paragliding?

Our Paragliding Sites: We paraglide 365 days a year (weather permitting) and are unique in having access to private flying sites facing every wind direction in the fantastic setting of the rolling South Downs National Park. These exclusive private sites allow us to ensure safe paragliding tuition without the complications that come from sharing crowded club sites with other pilots. The importance of this cannot be underestimated, as we can ensure that our students get uncluttered airspace in which they can develop and hone their flying skills at a steady, safe and uninterrupted pace.

Our Instructors: All our paragliding lessons are conducted under the supervision of our team of enthusiastic BHPA-qualified instructors.

Year-round instruction: We are the only paragliding school in the UK to fly every day of the year, seven days a week (weather depending). We fly on weekends and bank holidays, and have even been known to fly on Christmas day! We have taught thousands of budding paraglider and hang glider pilots over the last quarter century and lessons can be taken at your pace and convenience.

Our Equipment: We take great pride in our range of school wings and harnesses which are used by our students during their training. All our equipment is suitable for complete beginners of all shapes and sizes, from 43kg to 150kg!

Fly Sussex Paragliding School, based in the UK

Paragliders can soar like eagles, flying for hundreds of kilometers on currents of rising air. They can go cross country for over 400km and fly to heights of over 15,000 feet. On your first paragliding lesson, we aim to get you flying solo in a day.

Learning to paraglide will require determination and effort, but the rewards are soon realised, and your first low, ground-skimming flight will give you a tantalising glimpse of your future potential. Book one of our paragliding courses now.
